Aldi Villa Malizia Chianti 2004

I don’t normally go near Chianti, because the next morning I end up with a heavy head I could do without, but this one surprised me.

None of the heaviness, and am I mistaken but is 12% for a Chianti on the low side?

At £3.49 Aldi have come up trumps in the cheap wine department, I’m pleased to say.

I’ve had much more expensive chianti than this that has not impressed me as much. It’s a bit disconcerting. I’m beginning to wonder if I just have cheap tastes!

Seriously, though, it comes recommended.
