Villa Maria Sauvignon Blanc 2005
I bought this wine intending to have it with the turkey on Christmas day, and I can’t honestly remember why it didn’t get opened.
All in all, it’s had a much less auspicious opening simply because there was nothing else left in the house other than reds… and I fancied a white.
I bought this bottle as a substitute for the 2004 vintage, which won a gold award from the ‘International Wine Challenge’. It hasn’t disappointed and even at £7.98 I’d buy it again even if there weren’t to be a celebration in sight.
Having only just recovered (along with the rest of the family) from sickness, diohrea and severe headaches I’ve survived the 13.5% alcohol levels rather well. In fact, I doubt the end of the bottle will survive the pork chops, mange tout and potatoes we’re having tonight.
