Campo Viejo Crianza Rioja 2002 - Asda Special Offer

This wine is already my favourite Rioja at a sensible price - normally £5.98. So still not cheap, but definitely worth revisiting.

Now, I noticed Sainsbury’s just a week or two ago had brought in the new season’s wines and one of them is the Campo Viejo Crianza Rioja 2003.

So this past weekend when I saw the 2002 on offer in Asda at only £4.58 (£1.50 off) I grabbed half a dozen bottles and got an extra 10% off. Well, 20% with my wife’s staff discount, yay!

The wine is made from 75% Tempranillo, 20% Granacha 5% Mazuelo and is aged for two years giving a soft and fullsome fruitiness without heavy oak overtones.
