Janis Robinson - Cuvee Julienne 2004 Chateauneuf-du-Pape
£5.98 13% Red 3/5
Before I comment on Janis Robinson’s article (link at the bottom of this post) I need to explain something.
I wanted the home page of this site to list the 10 most recently added wines to the database so I used a timestamp field in the database. However, when I wanted to alter the price, today, of Cuvee Julienne from the original price I’d entered in the database to the offer price (which, I feel is a more accurate way of doing things) the timestamp changed to the time I made the edit. This has meant that the Cuvee Julienne entry has now moved to the top of the list on the home page.
I’m not sure how important this is, but I want to point out that my comments on this wine were made about 23 days before Janis’ ones - it’s a context thing.
Anyhow, you’ll see in Janis’ “Wine of the Week” article some history on how Asda stole a march on their competitors, and how this enabled them to offer the wine at a much reduced price.
But what I felt important in my comments was the effect the wine had on me, which was so different from the reds I’ve been drinking - and that’s the awful headaches I had to suffer the following day only having had two glasses of the stuff.
So, if anyone fancies trying this wine and leaving their comments I’d really like to know if they suffer the same after effects.
